The three major credit reporting agencies allow you to receive a free credit report each year.  The site is www.annualcreditreport.com.  The three agencies are Equifax, TransUnion and Experian.  Though you won’t receive a credit score, you will be able to review all your credit activity and dispute discrepancies if there are any.  

 

One suggestion is to request your report from one of the three agencies every four months.  This way, you can monitor your account on a more frequent basis for unauthorized activity and be proactive to ensure you are not a victim of identity theft.   The site is secure, easy to use and best of all, FREE!  You can call 877-322-8228  to request your credit report, too.
